BED WETTING

Good Evening to each and every Blessed Members of the house. My name is: Dr. Ifeoluwaseun. I’m sorry I couldn’t make myself available for almost many weeks now. I’m sorry for this. This evening we shall be discussing about an ailment which can’t be told to the next ear. They will be like, so, as tall as you are, you are… you need serious deliverance. A big one for that. I know a man in… There’s a great herbalist in my Village with the eyes of the gods. Come to my church. I will inform my Alfa about this and he will surely give you…

Till this very minute, no doctor has been able to find a final solution to this ailment called Bed Wetting. Although we all look at it alone but Bed wetting is actually a member of Incontinence. Some would advise their brothers and sisters to go and urinate in a three stone cooking fire, some would be told to go and greet the dumping ground/incinerator (atan in Yoruba language) early in the morning. Some have even went to buy tinko phones so it can shout to their ears at any set alarm.

This evening, we shall discuss the meaning, causes and final solutions. A Yoruba adage says, when trees fall on each other, we remove the top first. So, I’d like to begin with their mother

What is Incontinence?

Incontinence also known as Urinary incontinence is the inability to control urination. The term may be used interchangeably with Overactive Bladder (OAB), which also includes the same frequency in urination and urinary urge.

People who suffer from overactive bladder, or urinary incontinence, can’t hold their urine – they wet themselves. Leaking urine is normal only in infants; it is not a normal result of aging. If you have this problem, you may be too embarrassed or upset to ask for help. Don’t be.

Incontinence affects all ages, both sexes, and people of every social and economic level.

Types of Incontinence

Incontinence is classified by the symptoms of or circumstances occurring at the time of urine leakage.

We have;

Stress incontinence: May be due to poor bladder support by the pelvic muscles or to a weak or damaged sphincter. This condition allows urine to leak when you do anything that strains or stresses the abdomen, such as coughing, sneezing, laughing, or even walking.

Urge incontinence: Results when an overactive bladder contracts without you wanting it to do so. You may feel as if you can’t wait to reach a toilet. At times, you may leak urine without any warning at all. A bladder can become overactive because of infection that irritates the bladder lining. The nerves that normally control the bladder can also be responsible for an overactive bladder. In other cases, the cause may be unclear.

Mixed incontinence: Is often a combination of both conditions above – stress and urge incontinence.

Overflow incontinence: Occurs when the bladder is allowed to become so full that it simply overflows. This happens when bladder weakness or a blocked urethra prevents normal emptying. An enlarged prostate can result in such blockage. For this reason, overflow incontinence is more common in men that in women. Bladder weakness can develop in both men and women, but it happens most often in people with diabetes, heavy alcohol users, and others with decreased nerve function.

Environmental incontinence (sometimes called functional incontinence): Occurs when people cannot get to the toilet or get a bedpan when they need it. The urinary system may work well, but physical or mental disabilities or other circumstances prevent normal toilet usage.

Nocturnal enuresis (nighttime incontinence) Is incontinence that occurs during sleep. And this is where we are touching this evening.

Bed-wetting — also called nighttime incontinence or nocturnal enuresis — is involuntary urination while asleep after the age at which staying dry at night can be reasonably expected. What I mean is that this is an involuntary urination after clocking more than 7 years old, and you’re still bed wetting.

Generally, bed-wetting before age 7 isn’t a concern. At this age, your child may still be developing nighttime bladder control.

Bed-wetting isn’t a sign of toilet training gone bad. It’s often just a normal part of a child’s development.

If bed-wetting continues after being 7 years old and growing older, treat the problem with patience and understanding.

CAUSES

No one knows for sure what causes bed-wetting, but various factors may play a role:

A small bladder. Your child’s bladder may not be developed enough to hold urine produced during the night.

Inability to recognize a full bladder. If the nerves that control the bladder are slow to mature, a full bladder may not wake your child — especially if your child is a deep sleeper.

Urinary tract infection. This infection can make it difficult for your child to control urination. Signs and symptoms may include bed-wetting, daytime accidents, frequent urination, red or pink urine, and pain during urination.

Sleep apnea. Sometimes bed-wetting is a sign of obstructive sleep apnea, a condition in which the child’s breathing is interrupted during sleep — often due to inflamed or enlarged tonsils or adenoids. Other signs and symptoms may include snoring and daytime drowsiness.

Diabetes. For a child who’s usually dry at night, bed-wetting may be the first sign of diabetes. Other signs and symptoms may include passing large amounts of urine at once, increased thirst, fatigue and weight loss in spite of a good appetite.

Chronic constipation. The same muscles are used to control urine and stool elimination. When constipation is long term, these muscles can become dysfunctional and contribute to bed-wetting at night.

Bed-wetting can affect anyone, but it’s twice as common in boys as in girls. Several factors have been associated with an increased risk of bed-wetting, including:

Stress and anxiety.

Family history.

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Bed-wetting is more common in children who have ADHD.

Series of Doctors have recommend lots of things. It works for some people while it didn’t work at all for some. If you visit a doctor, the likely questions he might ask you are:

Is there a family history of bed-wetting?

Has your child always wet the bed, or did it begin recently?

How often does your child wet the bed?

Are there periods of time when your child does not wet the bed?

Is your child dry during the day?

Is your child having stool accidents?

Does your child complain of pain or other symptoms when urinating?

Is your child facing any major life changes or other stresses?

If you’re separated or divorced, does your child alternate living at each parent’s home, and does the bed-wetting occur in both homes?

How do you respond to your child’s bed-wetting?

All these questions might help but won’t remove the disgrace the way you want. Doctors can say, you need to undergo medical test etc.

There are 3 solutions to bed wetting.

The very first one is banana. If an adult keeps bed-wetting and has used series of medication as prescribed by doctors yet no solution, let the man eat a bunch of banana every 6pm of every Blessed day. Do this for 7 days and see the result. Make sure the adult man/woman consume the whole bunch of banana. If after 7 days, it didn’t work, then you can go for the higher one.

Visit any maize farm and buy some corns. Do not buy maize o. Buy corn instead. When you got home, open covering of the corn. If you look carefully, you will see some red/yellow threads on the very top of the corn popularly known as silk. It’s always many on a corn. Please if the corn you buy from the farmer has lost its silk, don’t bother to buy because this is actually what you need. Carefully pluck out these silks and cut the dry areas away. Now, pack the cold and fresh one on a clean tray and cut to pieces in a rice shape. Boil drinking water of 50 cl (size of pure water sachet). Pour the hot water into a clean cup and pour the silk into this cup and stir. Let it cool for a while.

When you notice that the water temperature is now safe to drink, filtrate the water unto another clean cup/bowl using a clean handkerchief to sieve. Let the bed wetting man/woman drink this water, and repeat this process every morning and evening for good 7 days. Please there must not be sexual intercourse during these times. It will work for the man. But if after trying this, the man/woman is still bed wetting. Use the final method.

Go to any market you know and buy PURE AND ORIGINAL BOTTLE OF HONEY. Please do not buy the diluted honey. And please do not buy the fake honey. Buy the pure and original honey; not the one collected by fire, but the one harvested naturally. Give the man/woman 2 spoon of original honey in the morning and same thing in the evening. Do this for 7 days and forget bed-wetting. Please do not have sexual intercourse during this time till you’re through with the dosage. If after 7 days, you notice that it work, repeat another 7 days to be very sure. You can also use the honey for a child that is bed-wetting as well. The dosage remains 2 spoon of honey in the morning and also same thing at night for good 7 days at least.

Least I forget, there’s someone selling original honey here

I actually want to discuss 2 things with us today but let’s stop here till next week. Thank you for your time and attention. I remain Dr. Ifeoluwaseun.
